A rare opportunity to gain access to the Decontamination Area within Building 274, which was 501st Tactical Missile Wing’s headquarters and command post on Greenham Air Base during the Cold War.
The area will be open on
– Saturday 17 September, 11:00 – 16:00
– Sunday 18 September, 11:00 – 16:00
Access is FREE and no booking is required.
There will be walks and talks run by Greenham Control Tower running alongside these open days, and East Woodhay Brass Band will be entertaining visitors at Greenham Control Tower on Sunday 18th September , 12:30 – 13:15 and 13:45 – 14:30.
Visitors for the Decontamination Area can either park at Greenham Control Tower and walk across the common (25 minute walk), or can drive directly to Building 274 on Greenham Business Park, at RG19 6HX
