International Air Tattoo (IAT), The Greenham Years
In this 50th year of operation of the International Air Tattoo, Greenham Control Tower has assembled an exhibition celebrating the years (1973 to 1983) when the world-famous Air Tattoo displays were held at Greenham Common.
About the Exhibit
Many local people will remember the fantastic displays of aircraft, from all over the world, which could be seen on their doorsteps. This exhibition describes the story of how the Tattoo came to Greenham and developed into a major event. It includes exhibits contemporary photographs and original publicity posters and pamphlets. There is an interactive kiosk and screens showing aviation videos.
There is the opportunity to see the views from the top of the Control Tower with the replica control desk featuring real time civilian and military flight radar.
MENCAP will visit on 4/5 December to sell their model aeroplanes.
