Memorial Service for U.S. Servicemen

About the Event

The Service commemorates
two tragic accidents. On
12th December 1944, a Horsa
glider crashed at Greenham
Common with the loss of 31
troops and 2 pilots.

Then a few days later, on 15th
December 1944, two B17
Flying Fortresses returning
from a raid on Germany
collided in bad weather over
Greenham. Of 18 crew only 2 survived.
