Heritage Open Days – Family Fun Day at Greenham Common Control Tower

What was Noah’s Ark doing on Greenham Common?

Who was No Bones Billy?

Why was the Millennium Falcon here?

These and other questions will be answered in a lively illustrated canter through the curious history of Greenham Common from prehistory to today after which you can:

  • Use our fun activity guides to help you explore the tower and learn about the Greenham’s amazing history.
  • Join a guided walk onto the common and experience what it might have been like to parachute into Normandy on D Day.
  • Meet a genuine USAF serviceman who was based at Greenham.
  • Have your face painted (or camouflaged!) Our café will be open as usual for you to enjoy some of the best home-made cakes in Berkshire!

There will be three slots to sign up for this top-hole tower experience at 10.30, 12.30 and 2.30. Places are limited so pre-booking is required.
