Aldermaston and World War 2 – CANCELLED

In light of the current ongoing situation and taking heed of government advise, this event is cancelled in order to protect our volunteers, staff and visitors. We hope to reschedule and hope you understand this decision.

Paul Burton will discuss the part Aldermaston played in WW2.

Part of the Aldermaston Manorial Estate was acquired by the Ministry of Supply for the construction of an airfield which then became operational in 1942 when it was handed over to the United States Army Air Force. Aldermaston went on to play a significant role in Operations Overlord and Market Garden alongside other airfields in the area such as Greenham Common.
