Following the success of the inaugural art day at Greenham Tower at New Year, art teacher Rachel led another incredibly productive, action filled day at the tower to give twenty local children something positive and creative to do during their February Half Term.
Focusing on the environment and wildlife of the common, the children were introduced to a wide range of different drawing techniques such as positive and negative space drawing stained glass style, drawing big, drawing small and timed speed drawing! All of the children also had the opportunity to try out lino cut printing, collage and leaf rubbing. A particular favourite seemed to be creating animals from leaves.
It was great to see all of the participants so busy and enjoying themselves for the whole day. It’s also great to note that Rachel has already said that she would be delighted to run another art day during the Easter holidays.
